What is a Pronaos ?

“Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in Unity” -Psalms 133:1
The word Pronaos means “Portico”, the porch before the Temple, where stands the seeker for Wisdom, asking to gain admittance to the True Inner Temple, where the keys to Eternal Wisdom, Light and Love may be found. Pronaos is a beautiful healing ritual for ourselves, but then we find we really come to serve others and the healing of the world. Ritual is prayer in motion. In Pronaos, we practice fraternal love and harmony, and this is the seed of Love sown in the hearts of humanity for the Healing of the Nations. If you feel Inner guidance to participate in this type of work, you may want to apply to become a Pronaon.
Pronaos is initiatory group work and full participation requires initiation. The initiation forms a strong link between the aspirant and fellow Pronaons, and the Inner School, which guides our Order. The initiation and the work of Pronaos help intensify and purify our aspiration as we develop the skills for working harmoniously and in concert with others, which is an Aquarian ideal.
Once initiated, an aspirant is known as a Pronaon and an Apprentice Builder. Pronaons take part in the ritual work and may be given the opportunity to serve as officers.
B.O.T.A. members may apply for initiation after meeting some basic requirements, including completion of the first two courses in the curriculum and a willingness to commit themselves to regular attendance.
If you are a B.O.T.A. member and would like to learn more about attending Pronaos as a guest or applying for initiation, please contact your local Pronaos Coordinator.
